Processing a Refill Prescription

When processing a refill prescription, it will transition through the following Workflow queues:

Depending on your Workflow Preferences, when processing a refill prescription, it may transition through the following Workflow queues:

  • Data Entry

  • Packaging

  • Technical Validation

  • Clinical Review

Once a prescription is completed, it will appear in one, or both, of the following tiles:

  • Pick Up/Delivery

  • Dialogue - if the Dialogue Required checkbox is selected during Clinical Review or Technical Validation.

Once a prescription is completed, it may appear in one, or both, of the following tiles:

  • Pick Up/Delivery - if POS Integration is activated, or if it is a diem health prescription.

  • Dialogue - if E-Dialogue is set to New or All in Workflow Preferences and if the Dialogue Required checkbox is selected during Clinical Review or Technical Validation.

Processing a refill can be completed from either the Workbench or the patient's Profile tab.

Data Entry

For refill prescriptions, the Data Entry queue includes:

  • Using the Intake window for refill prescriptions and adjudicating them through Rx Detail.

  • Processing and adjudicating prescriptions that were added to the Workbench, either from the Intake window or one of the programs the patient is enrolled in or your pharmacy is registered for.

Once the prescription has been processed, inventory is deducted from the Drug Folder and the prescription moves into the Packaging queue to be packaged.

Once the prescription has been processed, inventory is deducted from the Drug Folder if the drug is monitored and the prescription moves into the next queue as outlined in your Workflow Tab. Click on the links below depending on what the next queue is for your pharmacy.

  • No queues activated - the prescription is completed and a hardcopy (half label) prints.

    The prescription will appear in the Pick Up/Delivery tile if:

    • Your pharmacy has POS Integration activated.

    • Your pharmacy does not have POS Integration activated but the prescription is a diem health prescription, allowing you to send notifications to your patient that the prescription is ready. For more information, see Rx Ready diem health Notifications.

    Based on your Workflow Preferences for E-Dialogue, the prescription may display on the Dialogue tile.
